Fancy coming to work with us?
Local Actors / Voice-Over Talent:
Who we are interested in: Local (to Bristol and surrounding areas) male & female actors and voice-over artists for our commercial projects.
What you should send us: A hard copy of your CV & recent photo plus examples of previous work that is relevant for your talent - audio CD (voice-over) or VHS (preferred) / DVD Video (actors)
CG Artists / Animators:
At the moment we're not currently looking for extra artists or animators, but please do send us your latest reel - we'll definately keep you on file and will be the first to be looked at as and when a position arises or when we hit crunch time and need to call on someone sharpish. Additionally, please state if you are after a freelance or full-time position.
Who we are interested in: Good all-round artists with a high level of experience in 3ds max, Photoshop, Combustion, Premiere (etc.) who can hit the ground running. We're not after name dropping or previous title experience (although it's nice!), but your showreel should reflect that you have the drive, talent and potential and that you are absolutely frickin ace.
What you should send us: Good ol' trusty PAL VHS is preferred (we can take others such as SECAM or NTSC if you're from out of town) or DVD Video if you don't have access to a VHS machine (DO NOT send CD-ROM's with mpegs, exe's or AVI's due to viruses, or those tiny funky CD's), a printed copy of your CV and an emailed version to grindstone@lightworx.co.uk incase the printed one goes walkabouts, although if your reel is great we won't care about your CV. Your reel should illustrate your best work; please don't pad it full of crap to make up the time - a short reel with great stuff is better than a long reel with average stuff. If you collaborated with others on a sequence, please let us know to avoid embarassement later on. If you have produced stills, bung them in the reel. In addition, incase we don't agree with your taste in music, please let us know (by the means of captions or otherwise) if we should turn the volume up, such as if there is a lipsynch sequence on your reel. If you have produced some images for print, please feel free to bung them through, but don't forget (especially if you are showcasing a fancy GI render) to mention how long it took to render and what renderer was used. Brownie points will be awarded to those who use standard scanline, "traditional" lighting techniques and can get a really low render time.
If you're still unsure about VFX reel content, layout blah blah blah, we seriously suggest you look here
Please, no agencies!
Please note that we are unable to return stuff.
(How else could we keep you on file?!)
Where you should send it: Please send all reels FAO Sue Witheridge at the address below.
